Defining Hope – Maybe It’s Change

First,
let me just say that I am sick and tired of all the empty rhetoric! When I listen to political speeches and hear
absolutely NO substance, I am hearing empty rhetoric. How a politician can build an entire campaign and maybe a
political career on empty rhetoric, (whether or not it is original empty
rhetoric), speaks to just how dumbed down the people of this country have
become. If one does look for substance
in what the Democrats say these days, the only thing that is obvious is that
what they have to say appeals only to a very selfish public. If there is anything I hate more than empty
rhetoric from politicians, it is selfishness from the most blessed people on
earth!
It
has been said by others that Americans want government dependency instead of
individual freedom, so that is why the Democrat liberal message is convincing
the “dumb masses” with such efficiency.
The term, “dumb masses” comes from conservative, (Libertarian) author
and radio host, Neal Boortz, who also made the first point in this
paragraph. Thanks, Neal – I hope that
will keep the charges of plagiarism to a minimum.
People
do not want the responsibility of taking care of themselves, their families,
their communities, or their country any more.
Let me amend that – far too many people – not everybody - just the most
vocal ones evidently.
The
country is literally going to hell in a hand basket because too many Americans
are lazy, immoral oafs who think that government’s main function is to play
Robin Hood! No matter how you slice it,
if you want government to take care of everybody, it’s going to cost a lot of
money and it is going to cost ALL of our freedom. Period. Now, I don’t have
a lot of money, and the majority of the freedom I was born with has already
been taken, so I’ve had it with the whole lot of dumb masses!
When
you hear politicians promise “jobs” to take care of an unemployment “crises”,
you can bet that their plan for “creating” those jobs involves increasing the
government payroll. There are far too
many of the dumb masses already on the government payroll! The ones that are not are either hoping to
be or content to accept government charity in one form or another. That, folks, is a sick society right
there!
So
let’s look at what it takes to “create” jobs – because I’ve done it, have
you? Creating jobs in the private
sector involves much personal investment.
It involves having an idea for a product or service that you are willing
to provide your own personal wealth, time, energy, and knowledge to
promote. This is called
entrepreneurialism and it involves risk.
Creating jobs in the government sector involves pulling funding from
private citizens, imagining a bureaucratic labyrinth to spend those funds on,
and anointing certain citizens with the privilege of passing judgment on their
fellow citizens in the private sector through regulation, licensing, and forced
compliance to avoid prosecution. Don’t
like that assessment? Come up with a
more truthful one then.
Sometimes
the private sector combines forces with government through contractual
agreement – where private companies provide a product or service to government
entities via contract, in which case these companies are more answerable to
government than they would be if they were not in such contracts. This is a way whereby “government” jobs are
created in private enterprise, but not controlled by free market forces. Call this the fast track to fascism.
The
point is that ALL government jobs are supported not by the efforts of
politicians, but by the efforts of a hard working, free American society. The economy is dependent upon efforts of
those who get the least credit – hard working, free Americans. You can take this to the bank – if Americans
cannot be free, they will cease to be hard working. Those who are not hard working and do not want freedom are
totally dependent on the shrinking pool of those of us who are and do. Politicians will not tell you this. They will promise, instead, to use the power
they are asking for to “take the evil profits of the rich” and give them to the
poor through government programs and more regulation.
Profits
are evil only to those who have never had to make them honestly.
For
some reason the dumb masses seem to believe that business should not be
profitable – at all. I don’t know why
they think that anyone would ever go into an unprofitable business except that
they are really, really dumb! Many of
those standing in such harsh judgment of “big business profits” are those who
are on the receiving end of unimaginable wealth precisely BECAUSE they are
being paid with big business profits.
The entertainment industry comes immediately to mind, but that is just
one example. That adored bastion of
liberal philosophy that is oh-so-willing to comment on the sad state of the
little people living in the shadows of corporate profits. Where the heck do they think all their
wealth comes from? Same with the
overwhelming majority of academics spreading untruths throughout every liberal
institution of higher learning – these people are truly out of touch. They and the politicians who spout these
absurdities are the real profiteers.
I
know this is not being taught any more, but this country came into being mainly
for one reason and one reason only.
People who escaped Europe’s religious persecution and risked their lives
to colonize the New World came here perfectly content to colonize in the name
of the crown. They were willing to
produce and send back profits from their efforts to the country of their origin
– until the king started to demand too much in taxation and refuse any
representation for those taxes. That
was the straw that broke the camel’s back – especially when the king’s troops
began to disarm the colonists as well.
Hence, America was born, due to the efforts of a minority of freedom
loving people that would not bow down to tyranny.
Communal
rules had already been tried and failed miserably, so these wonderful,
freedom-loving folks had to invent a system of government that would work and
preserve that hard won freedom. As they
examined the origin of their rights, they were able to accurately define that
origin as they eliminated all the false ones that they could come up with. They knew that their kingdom had not
bestowed their rights to freedom on them, because the blood of those who paid
the terrible price for it fighting that kingdom was still fresh in their
memories. They also were smart enough
to realize that no one or small group of them could bestow freedom on all of
them and their posterity. So, where was
this thing called “freedom” born? It
was an old question that had never been answered and then defended with any
viable government policy. “Endowed by
their Creator . . .” was where they defined the origin of their rights to
freedom. These rights, these “unalienable
rights” that they proceeded to enumerate were worth defending with blood, so
they were certainly worth protecting with whatever government they set up. It was sound logic and the strategic
building block of the most morally conceived government in the history of
humanity.
The
Founders knew that the government they were inventing would only work in a
moral society. Freedom can only live
and prosper in morality. The “necessary
evil” of government can only grow more evil if the people being governed grow
lazier, and less responsible. If the
individual heart is hardened to charity and good works, if the individual
spirit is assaulted with injustice, and if selfishness replaces decency in a
society, government becomes a tyrannical monster – and freedom is lost to all
who should inherit its bounties.
They
did not all agree on everything, but they were able to put their differences
aside as they labored to hammer out the details that would define the law of
the land of the free. Now the
continuing beneficiaries of their efforts are eviscerating the body of their
work, year-by-year, decade by decade, generation after generation. The grass seems greener where liberty has
been buried in exchange for so-called world order. The law of the land is being offered up as a “living” sacrifice
for a selfish people who do not understand or value their blessings. Sound harsh? Our enemies are reveling in our ignorance.
It
should not be up for debate that the rest of the world views America with a
mixed bag of emotional opinions. They
fear, they hate, and they envy. They
admire, they love, and they hope. Their
opinions in some cases are based only on what their governments have allowed
them to know, and in other cases on what they have seen with their own
eyes. Their opinions may also be based
on their heritage and their traditions, their religions and their economies,
their histories and their stabilities.
These are emotions – passions that drive their awareness of America’s
relationship to the rest of the world.
Americans
are always trying to perceive their standing in the world. Most seem to think that it is important
others view America in a positive light as opposed to a negative one, but that
is not nearly as important as how Americans view themselves and their own
country. Since we Americans have the
freedom to voice our opinions, we also carry the great responsibility to
ascertain the truth in what we spout, here and abroad, about the soul of our
country and her people. Far too many
Americans with access to a world press speak foolishly and out of pure
ignorance in defining our values and our hopes for all of humanity. Negativism over truth has become a national
sickness, a badge of liberalism, and a dangerous disparity of hope.
Finally,
the best we could come up with as we prepare once again for the handing over of
the reins of political power are some of the poorest examples we have ever
considered to carry the face of America.
We pulled from the minority of America – those groups who all have their
beefs, and who all carry their loathing for the cost of freedom just under the
surface. A fascist feminist woman, a
racist, half black man with questionable religious motivations, and a
values-challenged senior citizen in the declining years of productivity – these
are our choices. These candidates have
been selected by less than one-third of the “qualified” voters who bothered to
vote in the last presidential election.
So, our country of over three hundred million people is being
self-governed by the choice so far of only thirty-six million of us. No wonder our face has egg on it! No wonder the face of America knows not how
to express hope other than in empty rhetoric.
Make
no mistake about it, Hillary Clinton is more wrapped up in her feminism and her
socialist/fascist philosophy than she is in caring about protecting and leading
a strong America into the future.
Barack Obama has convinced 95% of black voters that they are far more
important to him than the fifty-plus percent of white voters in his party even
though the actual numbers represented by these percentages are white by a
staggering majority. They are also
young and wealthy. The only promises he
has made outside of the empty rhetoric involve taking more of their wealth to
secure more hardship and chains for their futures, while he subjugates hard won
victories toward real security to the whim of our enemies. They are too dumb to question it. John McCain will stand out as the least dangerous
choice, even though he is a bitter, self-serving person who places too little
value on the individualism that has always sustained America in her times of
greatest need. Taking a stand to him
involves taking the pulse of those he needs to obtain and stay in power, and
then walking in lockstep to their direction.
It
should be obvious that there really is a silent majority in America. They belong to various affiliations
including both major political parties, every organized religion, every
community in America, all branches of the military service. They work in every profession, are of every
race and both genders, they are young and full of hope, middle aged and
cynical, old and infirm, strong, vigilant, compassionate, and they are
Americans first. They have taken the
time to learn her history and put forth the effort to reap and enjoy her
bounties and blessings. They revel in
the good life and scorn misery and perversion. They are loving and giving and they believe in building strong
families. They would take care of their
own problems and their neighbors with unselfish willingness if the government
would move out of the way.
They
are ready to defend their country at a moment’s notice because they know beyond
a shadow of a doubt that there is no better place on the face of the
earth.
They
define hope and they can change anything they want to change if freedom
survives the assault of immoral selfishness.
Their silence may be cashed in at any time for a golden opportunity to
salvage the real America. That is what
the rest of the world and the dumb masses will never understand.
